Well Christmas is almost upon us and the New Year is just around the corner.  I want to wish all a great time with family and friends during our Christmas holidays.  May your New Year bring exciting things...I am looking forward to great days to come.

Over the next 3 or 4 weeks don't forget to take time for yourself.  Stop and do a quick project just for the fun of it.  I just finished doing 2 blocks from a block of a month challenge.  It relaxed me and put a smile on my face, it helped to clear my mind.

 

 I then decided to continue my self time and made a "1 hour basket" a free pattern from Hearts and Bees on the web...what fun I now have made 4.

Don't forget your quilting family during the holidays.  Maybe you can squeeze a sew day in or a quick outing for tea and shopping at your favourite store. Anyway you decide to spend your holidays just make sure to be thankful for our passion of quilting as it brings us such joy.

It's time to start quilting again, now gardening is winding down.  I have already attended a class in making knitted booties and have started a "block of the month" at one of the guilds.





It is all about "stars" this year.  But look for owls as I make my way through the blocks.  I also plan to create a layout to set the 9 blocks into.

I treated myself to a tumbler ruler and am making my way through my sash.  Although I did not think I had a lot of scraps I did manage to find a stack to cut up in my grey/black, green and from the pink/red bins.

Most of my time is spent quilting or designing quilts but I do get a bit of knitting and other forms of needlework done too.  I have posted some of my creations to hopefully inspire you to get quilting or doing other forms of needlework.
